THE COLORADO BLACK LEADERSHIP COALITION

is a collaboration of leaders across key sectors of the American Black Community with a core mission to eliminate and be responsive to inequities that stagnate the collective Black community.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Economic Development/ Workforce Training and Redevelopment/ Industry

Developing business strategies in technology and re-usable energy and other industries that will create long-term profitable returns. Facilitate opportunities for African American business owner to re-purpose existing business tools and mechanisms to compete in the current marketplace. Advocate for increased participation of African Business in city and state public works and entitlement projects.

Equity and improvement within the African-American community.

Health and Wellness

Advocating for health equity in access to service, support, and health education especially in areas of mental wellness.

Affordable Housing

Challenging gentrification in our community and pushing for development of affordable housing opportunities and revenue-based projects in with African American participation especially in our communities.

Criminal Injustice

Eradicate the path to prison pipeline and address the inequities in the judicial system regarding arrest, sentencing, and excessive use of force by law enforcement

SUPPORT THE CAPITOL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Each semester starting January 2020 we will place at least 8 African-American scholars in the state capitol or in city government offices.
